Julien Icher is a French historian and geographer based in the United States. He is the founder and president of The Lafayette Trail, a nonprofit organization promoting greater understanding of Lafayette’s legacy. He hosts Follow The Frenchmen, a YouTube series exploring Lafayette’s time in the United States, and narrated a documentary, Lafayette: A Hero’s Return, produced by a PBS affiliate in upstate New York. He frequently speaks on Lafayette and related topics. Like Lafayette, Icher’s life and work span two continents. He currently resides in Bethesda, Maryland.

Its activities include speaking engagements, lobbying government officials to enhance awareness of Lafayette, and collaborative efforts with local groups and governments to place historical markers commemorating Lafayette’s travels in the United States. The Lafayette Trail also maintains a presence on social media, including Facebook, X, and Instagram.
Icher speaks regularly about Lafayette to groups across the eastern United States. Over the past year, he has held approximately thirty events, speaking at museums, libraries, historical societies, and other venues in more than a dozen states.
